The entire Middim Khola Resort is lush and green. The climate in Lamjung is mild all year through. Huge trees give the impression that one has arrived in a cool and shady forest lodge. Orchids, plenty of wildflowers and wild herbs are found inside our spacious area. Various native trees with different subtropical forest fruits, flowers and sweet seeds attract butterflies, jungle bees, rare beetles, birds and squirrels from the near by forest even in winter time. We count more then 50 different species of Nepalese birds that are nesting inside here. One can hear the hooting of brown wood owls at night and wake up early morning from a wonderful concert of multiple songs and voices. Taking an early morning walk down to the river Middim Khola is also rewarding for the bird watchers. See various King Fisher, Grebe and Heron species hunting for their morning meals. The stars amongst the birds around our trekking lodge are the long tailed Sibia, the Himalayan Tree Pie, the Red winged Crested Cuckoo and a few pairs of Spotted Doves. Noisy green parakeets screech alarm when one comes too close to our corn fields or vegetable farm ground. There is much more to tell about the many birds here. One has to come and stay to see the scale of varieties. Watch Hawks, Kestrel an Merlin's flying over our resort that look for prey and hope to snatch one of our own farm chickens. Occasional visits from the majestic Himalayan grey headed Fishing Eagle can be observed along the river banks of the resort.
